How to build an operating rhythm for a founder-led business
An operating rhythm is the recurring cadence of decisions, reviews, and commitments that keeps a business moving forward without the founder having to be in every meeting. This is the operating rhythm template we use inside RallyPoint, and the one you can copy today.

Why founder-led businesses stall without a rhythm
In most founder-led businesses, strategy lives in the founder's head, priorities shift week to week, and progress depends on the founder unblocking each decision. The business rhythm template below replaces "ask the founder" with a clear, written cadence.
Annual Mission
One 1–3 year destination the whole organisation pulls toward. Reviewed yearly.
Quarterly Movements
3–5 strategic bets per department, owned at division level. Reviewed monthly.
Monthly Plans

The operating rhythm template
- 1. Set the annual mission. In one sentence, name the destination the business is working toward over the next 1–3 years. Pin it in writing.
- 2. Define quarterly Movements per department. Each department picks 3–5 strategic bets for the next 90 days. Each Movement has a measure of success.
- 3. Commit to monthly Plans. Every individual writes a Plan for the month that ladders up to a Movement. Each Plan has a measure.
- 4. Run weekly check-ins. 15-minute team conversation. Update Plan measures, flag blockers, note what to bring to the monthly review.
- 5. Run monthly Movement reviews. Each department head reviews their Movements with the founder. Decide what to double down on, drop, or replace.
- 6. Run the annual mission review. Once a year, revisit the mission. Confirm or reset for the next cycle.
